Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Every tool on Online Time Tool runs inside your browser. Nothing you type into a timer, a countdown or an alarm is sent to us or to anyone else, because there is no server involved in running them. We do not ask for an account, we do not have one to give you, and we do not build a profile of you.

2. Who is responsible

Online Time Tool is operated by Saugata Singh, 1/37 Azadgarh, Regent Park, Kolkata 700040, West Bengal, India. For anything in this policy, write to hello@onlinetimetool.com. Where the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR applies, that is the data controller.

3. What stays on your device

The site saves a small number of settings using your browser's own local storage. This is not a cookie and it is never transmitted: it is written on your device, read back by the same site on your device, and removed when you clear your browsing data. The complete list is:

• theme, which holds whether you chose the light or dark theme.
• ott.pomodoro.v1, which holds your pomodoro session and break lengths.
• ott.interval.v1, which holds your interval timer work, rest and round settings.
• ott.alarm.v1, which holds an alarm you set, so it survives a page reload.

That is everything the site stores. If your browser blocks storage, or you are in a private window, the tools still work and simply forget your settings between visits.

4. Cookies

We set no cookies of our own, and at the time of writing the site loads no third party script that sets one either. If that changes, this policy will change with it in the same release, and visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked to consent before any non essential cookie is written.

5. Analytics

No analytics product is loaded on this site. We do not know how many people visit, which pages they use or where they came from, beyond what our hosting provider records automatically as described in section 6.

6. Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare processes the requests your browser makes in order to serve the pages, and records them in server logs that include your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser's user agent. This is ordinary technical necessity rather than anything we have chosen to collect, and where the GDPR applies the legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the site. We do not have access to those logs as a dataset about you.

7. Advertising

The site does not currently show advertising. Space is reserved in the layout for it, which is why you may see a marked empty area, but no advertising script is loaded and no advertising cookie is set. If advertising is added, this section will describe it before it appears.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. In practice we hold nothing that identifies you, so the honest answer to most such requests is that there is nothing to produce. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, to delete and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross context behavioural advertising.

9. Children

These tools are suitable for anyone, and plenty of them are used in classrooms. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect personal data at all.

10. Automated decisions

Nothing here makes an automated decision about you, and there is no profiling.

11. International transfers

The site is served from a global content delivery network, so the page you are reading was delivered from whichever location is nearest you. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or the UK by our hosting provider, that transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, for the UK, the international data transfer addendum.

12. Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will not be made retroactively, and any change that introduces a cookie or a third party script will be live in the policy before it is live on the site.
